Business Companion have launched guidance on how retailers can continue to operate safely during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Working Safely during coronavirus (COVID-19): A retail guide has been designed for business to give accurate, reliable and up-to-date information on their responsibilities to staff and customers. It will be regularly updated to keep in line with governments guidance as the situation keeps developing.

It includes specific guidance on PPE, cleaning and hygiene, fitting rooms, queue management, and deliveries and returns. It also includes FAQ’s and answers, as well as a step by step guide to completing a Covid-19 risk assessment.

The guide is accompanied by a series of Annexes outlining issues faces by specific types of retailers, e.g. outdoors.
