With Covid cases remaining high, and with concerns about further waves early in the new year, the NFRN has cancelled its 2022 Awards ceremony in line with our priority of safeguarding members, their families, sponsors, staff and guests.
The winners of the 2022 NFRN Awards, which recognise excellence in independent retailing, were due to be announced at a glittering event the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on January 25 2022.
But after careful consideration, and in the interests of safety and wellbeing, the NFRN’s national executive committee has decided to call off the 2022 ceremony. The next NFRN Awards ceremony will take place in January 2023.
Announcing the news, National President Narinder Randhawa said: “This was not a decision that we arrived at lightly, but it is a decision that we are confident is right to ensure that we continue to keep members, their families and sponsors safe.”
Mr Randhawa said efforts would focus on an even bigger and better event in 2023.
He added: “It is a great shame that we will be unable to celebrate the successes of our members in January – particularly given the amazing lengths and breadths that store owners went to over the past 18 months to serve their communities. However, we look forward to bringing the independent retailing community together for a great celebration in 2023.”
