Six NFRN retailers are in with a chance of winning the Boost Drinks Local Legend award which will be announced tonight (Thursday, November 18) at the soft drinks company’s 20th-anniversary celebration party. A top prize of £20,000 is up for grabs.

Richard Kent, Nico Ali, Julie Kaur, Edith Smyth, Asiyah Javed, and Susan Connolly have all been shortlisted.
Independent retailers and their customers flocked to enter The Local Legends competition, all highlighting how and why they go ‘above and beyond to help their customers.

A panel of judges made up of industry experts, senior stakeholders within Boost, and the NFRN’s vice president Jason Birks selected the 20 top applications who have been invited to Boost’s 20th-anniversary party.
The overall winner will receive £20,000, which they are free to spend as they wish. Second place will receive £2,000, with third place taking home £1,000.

Similar to the NFRN’s Shop Local Shop Little Heroes awards, the Local Legends competition was created to reward independent retailers for the hard work they do for their local communities. It was also designed to celebrate the brand’s year-on-year growth and thank the local convenience channel for their continued support over the years.
