Yesterday, 1st October 2020, the sale of plastic straws, plastic-stemmed cotton buds and stirrers was banned.
To clarify, the laws are as follows:
- Retailers have until April 1st 2021 to sell any stock bought before the 1st October.
- Retailers have until July 3rd 2021 to sell through any drinks that come with a straw attached.
If you do not stop selling or supplying these items, you could be fined by the local authorities.
