Yesterday, 1st October 2020, the sale of plastic straws, plastic-stemmed cotton buds and stirrers was banned.

To clarify, the laws are as follows:

  • Retailers have until April 1st 2021 to sell any stock bought before the 1st October.
  • Retailers have until July 3rd 2021 to sell through any drinks that come with a straw attached.

If you do not stop selling or supplying these items, you could be fined by the local authorities.
