A message from Smiths News regarding Oxford depot:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to say that the situation at our Oxford depot remains that we are unable to access the site or operate from there due to continued work on gas pipes that are underneath the yard. It seems that the issues discovered are unprecedented for the local area and are challenging to fix because of the proximity of the site to an old gas storage facility.

There is a lot of work happening in the yard in an attempt to fix the problem as soon as possible. We have been advised that due to the extent of the ground-works and subsequent repairs that will be required to the yard we are unlikely to be able to access the site for another 2 weeks, therefore we will continue to start your deliveries from Reading.

We will provide you with another update in 2 weeks time.

Kind regards,

Smiths News
