After a review on tiers conducted by the government on the 30th December, further areas of England have entered tier 4.
This includes:
- The Midlands
- North East
- Parts of the North West
- Parts of the South West
Most other areas have been escalated to tier 3.

Evidence shows that the new strain of Covid-19 is increasing in parts of the South West, Midlands and parts of the North West.
Tier 3 & 4 areas will continue to be prioritised for community testing.
