Another NFRN member has pledged his support for Marcus Rashford’s free school meal campaign by providing free school meals, to families in need, throughout the school holidays.

Manish Patel, of Tring Newsagents in Hertfordshire, is one of the latest members to support the scheme, which aims to tackle child poverty amid the government’s decision to not extend its school meals voucher scheme.

Families in need can either pick up a free children’s packed lunch from Tring Newsagents, or order one via the Snappy Shopper website (www.snappyshopper.co.uk) or app and have it delivered to their home.

Matthew Watkins, manager at Tring Newsagents, said: “After seeing that other businesses were providing free school lunches, we immediately decided to do the same.

“It’s for a worthy cause and it’s nice to give back to our local community.

“We’ve had an unbelievable response from our customers, who are super grateful for our support, and our social media posts have blown up.”
