Our history can be traced back to 1847, when our founder Philip Morris opened a shop on London’s Bond Street. Today, we are a leading international tobacco company.

In 2016, we announced our decision to build PMI’s future on smoke-free products that are a much better choice than cigarette smoking. We believe that our company can contribute best to public health by developing a broad range of reduced-risk, and therefore better, alternatives to cigarettes that smokers can switch to.

 

IQOS – Not A Vape. Not A Cigarette.

IQOS is a new alternative to smoking that heats real tobacco rather than burning it. IQOS produces no smoke, ash or cigarette-like smells, and emits 95% less harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes.*

By using real tobacco instead of liquid, IQOS delivers a more familiar and satisfying tobacco experience.



 

HEETS are specially designed tobacco sticks for use with IQOS Heat Control™ Technology. A smoker that consumes on average 10 cigarettes per day can save £1000 per year when switching to IQOS.

Retailers who have already had the opportunity to sell IQOS to their customers are seeing positive results, with the device proving to be a boost to their business. Shahid Hussain of United Supermarket in Bristol said that word had got out that he stocks IQOS and HEETS. He now sees new faces in his store all the time looking to buy the products. “Stocking IQOS has definitely brought new customers into the store, particularly people looking to move away from smoking real cigarettes,” he said. Shahid said he was confident that selling IQOS would help him hold on to his menthol customers if they were not able to quit nicotine products completely, but were looking for an alternative in light of the menthol cigarette ban. “I’m really pleased Philip Morris has introduced the IQOS Menthol Kit,” he said. “The ban is a concern, but the kit means I can easily offer my menthol cigarette customers the closest alternative. I’m confident it’ll help protect my sales.”

This is a huge challenge and not going to happen overnight, but we are committed to providing smokers who cannot quit with less harmful alternatives.
