Publishers have arranged a 30 minute conditional cut-off extension for issue dated Thursday 17th August, following the Man City vs Sevilla European Super Cup final game that will be played the evening prior.
The Fed has been informed of an arranged 30 minute conditional cut-off, in line with previous requests for this game at the start of the season. The Chair of the NMA’s Supply Chain Committee, Roger Clapham, stated the below information.
“Should Man City vs Sevilla European Super Cup final game go to extra time we will instigate a 30 minute cut-off extension for issue dated Thursday 17/08/23 at the following branches:
• Swansea
• Bodmin
• Redruth
• Plymouth
• Exeter
• Barnstaple
• Taunton
• Yeovil
Any extension would be entirely conditional on the above game going to extra time, and would only be applied at the named branches above.
Vehicle routings would also be adjusted to ensure arrival ASAP at all branches to minimise impacts, especially considering the difficulties publishers have in getting into the South West in a timely manner.
The South West does have a big seasonal element at this time of year and that has been considered – ultimately those titles that are heavily reliant on football / sport content cannot risk serving the area without a results edition.
We hope this extension won’t be necessary, but would like to warn Fed members in advance. Thank you for your continued efforts on all our titles.”
