Refer and earn

With the Member2Member scheme, refer a retailer and get rewarded.
£50 for you, £25 for them.

As a member, you already enjoy over 150 exclusive benefits that cut costs, boost profits, and make running your business easier.

Now you can share those same advantages with other retailers — and get rewarded for it. Just one referral a month adds up to £600 a year in rewards.

Every new member strengthens the Fed, unlocking even more savings and support for everyone.

How to refer a member

There are 3 ways you can refer a new member to the Fed and they are both very simple.

Please note to qualify for the £50 reward you must be a fee-paying member of the Fed and you must have a relationship with the retailer you refer.

You can choose to donate the £50 reward to your district’s fund or have it deposited to your bank account.

Method 1. Enter their details on the form

Simply enter their name, email, phone and store’s post code on the referral form below.

The form also allows you to tell us how you’d like the reward to be paid out – to you or to your districts’ voluntary fund.

Method 2. Hand out your referral cards

Hand out your referral cards and ask your referrals to scan the QR code and fill in their details on the form. The referral cards can be found in the Fed’s magazine, Your Fed.

Method 3. Call the Contact Centre

Simply call the Contact Centre on (UK) 0207 017 8880 or (Ireland) 01 453 5822.

Your retailer will need to let the Contact Centre know that you have referred them to join the Fed. Our Contact Centre team will help him/her fill in the application form and process their payment over the phone.

Remember, they will need to let us know that your name, post code so we can verify and process your £50 reward for referring a new member. We will also be in touch to find out how you’d like to receive your £50 reward.

Recruitment Tips

Here are some simple tips to help you spread the word and encourage others to sign up for a yearly membership:

1. Mention 3 – 4 Benefits
The Fed has so much to offer, so it could be confusing to attempt to tell a potential recruit everything. Choose three or four benefits that are relevant to the potential new member and make them part of your conversation.

Here are some popular ones:

  • Payment solutions: Worldpay offer competitive rates.
  • Energy health check: Assured Energy has saved members over £200,000 since July 2024.
  • Brand new vehicle: Ford offers up to 40% off brand new vehicles. You also get an additional local dealership discount and, on most vehicles, free metallic paint and speed limiter.
  • ফেডপ্লাস: Save £837* on average per year with FedPlus! A huge collection of discounts that can be applied to your everyday purchases of products and services. e.g. holiday spending, cinemas, restaurants, electronics (i.e. Apple) and car servicing.

2. Start with Your Network
Think of retailers you know – friends, suppliers, neighbouring shop owners or members of local business groups. A personal recommendation goes a long way.

3. Share Your Experience
Explain how The Fed has helped your business. Whether it’s savings on essential services, support with utilities and payment solutions, or expert advice, sharing your own story makes it real and relatable.

4. Highlight the Value
Emphasise that an annual membership is just £338 a year (excl. VAT) and the benefits often pay for themselves many times over. In fact, many members recoup their fees within the first month.

5. Use the Fed’s List of benefits
Click here to download and share the list of Fed benefits. You can share these in person, via WhatsApp or email.

6. Mention the Support
Let them know they’ll have access to legal advice, business support, and lobbying power they wouldn’t get on their own. Plus a friendly Contact Centre that’s just a phone call away.

7. Follow Up
Sometimes people need time to think. Don’t be afraid to check in a week or two later to see if they’ve had a chance to look into it.
